An Australian owned, family business Greenpatch Organic Seeds began in the foot hills of Wherrol Flat in 1993. Having excellent red soils and a permanent crystal clear creek it was the perfect place for Greenpatch to bury it's roots. From the beginning Greenpatch has made a unique approach to not only selling seeds but growing seeds and plants organically. We are dedicated to organic principals in all aspects of our farm and making it as sustainable as we possibly can. Our current farm/shop is nestled on the Mid North Coast where we currently grow 230 varieties of seeds and propagate 500 varieties of plants on site.

Neville and Sophia started Greenpatch with a forward thinking vision and they well and truly achieved their goals with a strong following from loyal customers over 30 years. Their son Stami took a strong interest in seed saving and has been working at Greenpatch since 2010. Stami has now taken over the business with a continued vision of Australian grown heirloom seeds being the forefront of the business. You will see our seeds with a stronger presence at your local garden centre or stockist. We will be expanding our range with more seed to be grown on a second farm which we intend on also becoming certified organic shortly.

"Where do our Seeds come from?"

We are proud to say at Greenpatch we grow:

- 230 varieties of certified organic seeds

- 500 varieties of plants in our certified organic nursery

The vast majority of our seeds are grown onsite at Greenpatch, yet a handful of seed growers throughout Australia also support us by producing seeds using organic principals and methods.

Many seed companies just buy their seeds from overseas and rarely produce any varieties themselves.

Here at Greenpatch we pride ourselves in supporting Australian growers and producing as many varieties ourselves as possible! In some cases imported seed is used when no other option is available to ensure seed availability in our extensive range of vegetables, herbs, flowers and grains.

Organic Certification

Greenpatch Organic Seeds has been certified organic since 1993. We will continue to stand by organic certification and it's reliability that customers can trust. We (Neville & Sophia) both align strongly in growing crops without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilisers for the betterment of everyone's health, the overall impact on the environment and the planet.

Greenpatch Organic Seeds is currently certified organic with Southern Cross Certification. You can easily look for the organic logo on our plant label and seed packet.

If you have any questions in regards to our certification please phone or email us and we will do our best to help you out.

Corn Maize/Project

In August 2013 we started the Corn/Maize Project to save, re-grow and preserve traditional varieties. It was heartening the interest this created from gardener's around Australia. We are on the lookout for pure non-hybrid varieties of sweet corn, maize and popcorn. Thank you to all who sent rare seeds of corn and maize which have been actively grown for years and used for food, made into flour and animal feed all around the world. With your help, we have been able to re-introduce 6 varieties and we are excited about the prospect of bringing more varieties back in the future!

Heritage/Heirloom Varieties100% Non-Hybrid, Non GMO Seeds

Heritage seeds are know to be more nutritious, have much better flavour, better pest resistance and produce over a longer period. They have been grown and passed down for generations and only the best fruit is selected for seed with the qualities of vigor and flavour in mind. What more do you need to know to grow heritage/heirloom varieties?

The majority of varieties listed are Heritage varieties, having been grown and established in Australia for over 50 years. Much care and commitment has been taken with seed production & quality. Our farm is used for preservation of heritage seeds and rare plants. We are supported by a handful of dedicated seed growers sharing the same passion.

Heritage seeds are special. They have characteristics of great flavor, higher nutritional value, strong genetic make-up, longer harvesting periods, helps to maintain Bio-diversity, and of course you can save your own seed for next year's crop. All seeds are non-hybrid & non GMO.
