It was commonly grown for fresh eating or preserving.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eQueens peach is a white fleshed free stone variety producing large fruit that have a mild sweet flavour. They are very pleasant eating and if you have an over supply we have heard they preserve well.\u003cbr\u003eThe tree is very fast growing, setting fruit just 2 years from the time the seed was sown making it one of the fastest peaches I have seen to fruit. It will grow to 3m if you allow it but a prunning in winter as you do for all deciduous fruit trees will maintain an easier to manage tree size.\u003cbr\u003eIt’s heritage ties it to the Manning Valley in NSW making it a low chill variety. I am uncertain how far north it will fruit but growing this variety in a sub-tropical climate would still yield good results.
