Red Clover vigorous short lived perennial legume growing to 30cm. Best sown late summer for bulk vegetative growth. Can be grown in pasture as animal fodder, in orchard rows or vegetable cropping areas as a green manure. For the purpose of green manure ensure you slash and chop in plants before flowering stage.
If allowed to flower seed will be set and it will germinate at the next rain event.
Excellent for sprouting- Red Clover contains isoflavones which have links to improved health plus a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Sprouted clover has a rich nutty flavour. Please note it is the flower that is red, the foliage is green.
Sow during late summer. 500g - 1.5kg per acre will allow for a mixture of pasture species to grow.
