(Phaseolus vulgaris) – Organically Grown Uncertified – Grown by Greenpatch

Dual purpose bean either used fresh as a green bean or dried for use in soups, stews and casseroles.

A bush variety with white flowers, pods are short and flat, very pleasant eating when young, stingless. Can also be grown as a dried bean.

    Packet contains approx. 20 seeds.

    How to Grow

Bush Beans don't require a structure to climb on making them a little easier to manage plus faster to produce beans compared to their climbing counterparts. They like soil rich in organic matter but they are a legume so ensure nitrogen are not to high. Sow your beans direct in the garden and ensure you do not over water them during the germination stage as this may cause rotting. Once germinated provide a good mulch later around the plant. Harvest beans when they are young and tender between 8-12cm long. Plant beans every 4 weeks for continuous supply.

Pests included Cutworm, Crows & White Fly. Use exclusion netting, and good soil health practices to minimise pest impact.

Sow spring & summer direct into garden.

    Frost Tender

    70 days to harvest

    Uses

Eat beans whole either fresh or cooked. All beans are best eaten when young and string less, this is typically between 8-12cm in length.
