Violets are excellent ground covers for moist, shady positions. Small round green leaves, masses of small white flowers, splashed purple. Flowers are edible with a very mild flavour, making them a perfect garnish for salads or cake decorating.
Note: Any edible foliage or flowers should only be picked from areas that haven't been exposed to any gardening chemicals or harsh sprays, and always washed before consumption.
