Hardy perennial grown for it's liqorice roots. Roots are harvested as required and generally take 2-3 years to be a nice size. Roots can be used in various ways for culinary and medicinal purposes.
Likes a fertile well drained position in full sun to part shade. Will not tolerate water logging.
Handles frost once establish with winter dormancy.
