Babaco is a relative of the pawpaw family, tolerant of cooler conditions. Perennial to 2 metres. On a single trunk many large fruit to 30cm long are produced within 2 years of planting. Fruit ripens from green to yellow, slice and eat fresh. Fruit has a juicy & sweet flavour.
Plant in well drained soil only, tolerates cooler conditions.
Available all year. Sold in 140mm tube pot.
Plants are grown from cuttings.
