Black Turmeric is a perennial to 1.5m tall. Grows well in a large pot or in the ground, preferably a sheltered position. Highly ornamental large green/burgundy leaves during summer. Root is highly prized for use in curries and medicinal uses. Eat fresh, dried or preserved. Anti-inflammatory properties.
Available all year.
Usually supplied in 75mm tube pot but from May to October Turmeric is supplied as a dormant rhizome. Each dormant rhizome is between 40-80g each.
