New Seed Lines
(Capsicum annuum) - Organically Grown Uncertified
Popular heavy cropping red, green, yellow & chocolate cube or oblong shaped fruits. Annual to 60cm tall with fruits growing up to 10cm long. Capsicums produce over a very long period in good conditions.
Pests may include caterpillars and fruit fly. Use Vege Net for good protection against these pests. You can also use pyrethrum and natrasoap against caterpillars.
How to Grow
Sow seeds into pots, cover seed with 3mm of soil. Keep pots in a very warm position until germinated which can take up to 4 weeks. Transplant seedlings at 5-10cm to the garden in a very fertile position rich in manure and good drainage. Full sun is preferred. Space plants 40cm apart. Capsicums are heavy feeders and side dressings of fertiliser will help them to continue producing over a long period.

165 seeds/gram.

Uses
Use fresh, baked or cooked in various dishes. Stuffed capsicums are one of our favourites - Lookup recipes online or simply combine the following in a fry pan: Steamed rice, your favorite vegetables, some cured meat, a little fetta, chilli and small amount of tomato paste. Cook for 5-10 minutes in the fry pan then stuff this mixture into a hollowed out capsicum and bake for approximately 15min. You will love it!
If you have a glut, capsicum also freezes incredibly well for future use.
