Perennial to 1.5 metres. Likes shady position, and moisture and is very hardy. Leaves and roots used in cooking and cakes as flavouring. Also a great landscaping plant due to its hardy growth habit.
This is not cardamon which forms pods it is false cardamon. Leaves and roots are used in cooking and teas.
