Muscadine is a fruiting vine, native to Southeast and Central America. It produces round fruit which is black - dark purple in colour, larger than table grape varieties and form in small bunches. Adapted to a warmer and more humid environment, they require lower chill hours to flower and set fruit. Tolerant of summer heat. Fruits are used in Jams, Jelly and Wine production. High in Polyphenols, they can be eaten raw but are not known for this.
