Marshmallow grows as a perennial to 60 cm. Round leaves, mauve flowers. Eat young leaves and flowers, high in vitamins and minerals. Said to help with ulcers and sore throat. Can be lightly steamed when eating.
The sweet we know as Marshmallow came from this plant where the root was used to make a confection.
