Sorghum bicolor
A commonly grown cereal & animal fodder that is very hardy in a range of conditions. It's ability to rejuvenate after grazing is exceptional with the ability to re-shoot out of the centre stem or from the base.
Animals will eat the leaves for fodder or the grain can be harvested and stored for use during winter months as animal feed. Excellent for chickens.
Sorghum is also suitable for cover cropping but it will require regular mowing or cultivating to terminate it's grown after reaching maturity.
