Good vigorous grower with round globe shaped roots with a purple top. Flesh is fine grained and firm. Also known as Rutabaga, having been culitvated since the Middle Ages in Europe. A creamy root vegetable with purple top. Has a enjoyably rich and sweet flavour, great steamed, roasted, in soups or stews. Best sown AUTUMN - WINTER - sweetness is enhanced by frost. Stores excellently at cool temperatures. A highly productive and reliable variety, maturing in 90 days.
Sow direct in rows, space seed 15cm apart, cover with 5mm of soil.
