Turmeric is a perennial to 80cm tall. Grows well in a large pot or in the ground, preferably a sheltered position. Large green leaves, flowers white. Root used in curries, yellow dye, adds flavour and colour to cooking. Eat fresh, dried or preserved. Anti-inflammatory properties, Leaves can also be used in dry form.
Available all year.
Usually supplied in 75mm tube pot but from May to October Turmeric is supplied as a dormant rhizome. Each dormant rhizome is between 40-80g each.
